Hurricane Gustav is all over the news, as it should be.
Fortunately, most citizens of New Orleans and other surrounding areas were prepared this time. Though the area still may be slightly destroyed once again, at least the amount of devastation will much smaller.

Natural disasters are something I have never experienced first hand because of the location that I live in. It makes me wonder--why do people choose to live in these areas when they know its prone to earthquakes,tornadoes and other forms of destruction?

I am sure there are plenty of reasons as to why but they still don't seem completely logical.

Aside from that--I was supposed to work at 10am-5pm yesterday and the same with today.
I was able to switch my hours with someone yesterday but today I had to call out at 5:30 in the morning(I was still awake as always)
The part that irritates me is that I have been working at this job for almost a year and they know that I do not sleep at night. Hence the reason I worked third shirt for quite some time!
So you think they would be wise enough NOT to schedule me before noon like I have asked many many times before.
Its poor management to say the least. If you cannot listen to your employees and attend to them in a correct way...then you are not doing your job well.

I am really looking forward to the day(which may be soon) that I will not have to work under anyone, but rather for myself.
I don't do well when other people are trying to control me.

USE ONE LESS PAPER NAPKIN

During an average year, an American uses approximately 2,200 napkins around six each day. If everyone in the U.S. used one less napkin a day, more than a billion pounds of napkins could be saved from landfills each year.

So far today, I believe the best moment would be when I listened to a band that had a very personal and atmospheric sound to it. I love when a song is capable of putting me in a mood that coincides with the energy of the music. It makes me believe that the musicians have truly made genuine music!
