Two more days till I leave New Jersey to go back to Charlotte.
Yesterday was a very fulfilling day for me.
I got to see my neighbor Matt, who was my childhood best friend. We have known eachother since the day I was born and spent almost every second growing up together. Our conversation mostly consisted of what each of us have been doing the past few years as well as a ton of memories from when we were little. I always love hearing the embarrassing stories we experienced together, like the time he shit in the baby pool while I was swimming in it. Thanks for that! Besides having the same name, living a few feet from eachother, and being competitive...Matt and I are very different. It really fascinates me how well him and I get together no matter what. It only goes to show you that you don't have to be very similar to someone in order to have a great friendship. I actually prefer people being different than me at times, it makes it interesting to learn about someone who lives life completely differently than you do.
After I left Matt's house, I met up with my other best friend Kyle. He also has been one of my neighbors my entire life, but we did not become very close until highschool. We were both on the same bus and English class, and after a few slips of showing how strange we were, it was obvious we would become best friends. Kyle is one of those kids that is incredibly easy going and you could sit in a room with white walls/no furniture in it and have the best time of your life.--I haven't seen him since August so I was very excited to hang out and do our thing. It was as if time hadnt elapsed at all since I moved. I can be my complete self with Kyle, which is what makes me very comfortable having him as my best friend. Eventually we met up with Cookes, Bill and Joe. They all had been best friends growing up and have remained that way. I gradually became very good friends with them as well during highschool, but after a bunch of drama and wake up calls--we were no longer the same. I don't connect with them like I do with Kyle, so its very hard for me to create a friendship that is more than just bullshitting and partying. When the night came to end, Kyle dropped me off back at my house. We didn't really say goodbye, it was more of a "Ill see you later bro!" Its apparent him and I don't want to think about not being able to see eachother for quite some time, so we just don't go that route!
*Note to self: Remember to talk about the yellow marble.
Well I must be on my way now. I am hanging out with someone who is held very highly in my life, whether she realizes it or not. I will write about her later!
